Privacy Policy

PDF Studio processes your documents entirely on your own device. This policy explains what is and is not collected.

1. Your documents

Every file you open is processed locally in your browser's memory. Nothing about the contents of your documents — not the text, not the images, not the file name — is sent to us or to anyone else. When you close or reload the tab, that data is gone.

2. What is stored on your device

Small preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so the app behaves sensibly between visits — for example your chosen interface language. This never leaves your browser and you can clear it at any time through your browser's settings.

The app also registers a service worker, which caches its own program files so it keeps working offline. It caches the application, not your documents.

3. Requests the app makes

The app itself is downloaded from our host. Two features fetch additional files when you use them: OCR downloads the recognition data for the language you pick, and some PDFs need character map files to display certain scripts. These downloads are requests for program data. They do not carry your document, and they happen only when you use those features.

4. Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled. This section describes what will apply when it is, so that it is not a surprise.

Advertising is intended to keep PDF Studio free. When it is enabled, ads will be supplied by a third-party advertising network. That network — not us — may set cookies or read device identifiers in order to choose and measure ads, and may use your IP address and general location to do so. That is ordinary web advertising, and it is tracking; we would rather say so plainly than claim otherwise.

What will not change: the advertising network has no access to your documents. Your files are not sent anywhere, so there is nothing about their contents to share, and we never pass file names or extracted text to any advertiser or analytics service.

Where the law requires it — including the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising is loaded, and you will be able to change or withdraw that choice. Where other privacy rules apply, such as in parts of the United States, the corresponding opt-out will be offered.

5. Analytics

We do not use analytics that profile individuals. If basic, aggregate traffic measurement is added, it will be a privacy-preserving service that does not track people across sites, and this policy will be updated before it goes live.

6. Children

PDF Studio is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children.

7. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete. For anything an advertising network holds, its own policy and controls apply. You can clear everything this site has stored on your device by clearing site data in your browser.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you — in particular before advertising is turned on — the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated policy.
