The terms under which PDF Studio, a free in-browser PDF editor, is provided.

1. The service

PDF Studio is a free tool for viewing and editing PDF files. It runs in your web browser. We provide the program; the work is done by your device.

2. Your files and your responsibility

You keep all rights to the documents you open. We claim nothing over them and never receive them.

You are responsible for having the right to edit the documents you use this tool on, and for complying with the law where you are. Do not use PDF Studio to alter documents in order to deceive — forging identity documents, certificates, invoices or contracts is illegal, and this tool is not provided for that.

3. Keep your own backups

Exporting always produces a new file and never alters your original, but you should keep a copy of anything important. Work in progress is held in your browser's memory only, and closing or reloading the tab discards it.

4. No warranty

PDF Studio is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. PDF is a large and inconsistent format and some documents will not convert perfectly. We do not guarantee that the service is uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular file will be processed correctly.

Check anything that matters. After redacting, reopen the exported file and confirm the information is gone. After editing, confirm the result reads as you intended.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of PDF Studio. Because the service is free and processes nothing on our systems, our total liability to you is limited to nothing beyond ceasing to provide the service.

6. Advertising

The service may display advertising in order to remain free. Advertisements come from a third-party network, and their content is not our recommendation. See the privacy policy for how advertising affects your data.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the service or the hosting it runs on, and do not redistribute it as if it were your own. The software it is built from is open source and carries its own licences.

8. Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top will change with them, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
